One ‘secret’ to packing lighter on vacations is doing laundry mid-stay, which makes Sunrise Coin Laundry in Sanur Beach on Bali very helpful.

I’m not picky about doing laundry while on vacation, but I prefer to see the laundry machines…

If you take a walk around Bali, you’re going to notice a lot of places that advertise laundry services. That makes sense–anyone with a washing machine could technically be in the business of doing your laundry. So, in a sea of places offering services, how can you tell one apart from another?

Well, one thing that I personally prefer to see is the laundry room itself. I want to see a physical building with the washing machines and dryers that will be used. Not because I think it’s otherwise performed via magical powers, but because I’d like to make sure the place is legit.

For example, we stayed at the Andaz Bali located in Sanur Beach. The closest place that offers laundry services is on the beach path outside the property. Just make a left, walk down to roughly the next property, and you’ll see a sign that says they do laundry there. But there’s no washing machines visible–it just looks like a back-alley type of place that you dump off your clothes. It doesn’t give much confidence.

Thus, I took my business over to Sunrise Coin Laundry, which was just down the main road.

The path from Andaz Bali to Sunrise Coin Laundry in Sanur Beach

Address: Jl. Danau Tamblingan No.190, Sanur, Denpasar Selatan, Bali

I just want to point out how easy it is to get to Sunrise Coin Laundry from the Andaz Bali. Yes, I walked the road here, and it only took me 9 minutes from the entrance of the hotel to the entrance of Sunrise Coin Laundry.

You start out by going left from the entrance of the Andaz Bali.

A minute or two later, you’ll see the Hyatt Regency Bali entrance on your left. If you’re staying at the Hyatt Regency, you can join the directions from here.

Continue past the Hyatt Regency and you’ll see the city just a minute or two later.

If you get lost, there is a rather large map of the area here. But with no side paths up to this point, you can’t get lost, right?

Cross the street at the intersection so that you’re on the opposite side of the street. There’s a crosswalk here but don’t expect cars to slow down for you until you’re physically in the road. There are gaps in traffic–don’t worry. You’ll eventually see Santorini Greek Restaurant. Sunrise Coin Laundry is just past that restaurant. If you hit Indy Fashion, you went too far. Let the green Laundry sign be your guide.

Sunrise Coin Laundry is in a little courtyard next to a jewelry store. It’s hidden behind the motorcycles in the picture below.

Inside Sunrise Coin Laundry

There are two ways to use Sunrise Coin Laundry. You can either use it as a coin-op laundromat or you can do the fluff and fold service.

Step inside and you’ll find the laundry machines lining the wall on your left.

In front of you is the “wash your dirty secrets” sign where the counter is for you to pay if you’re buying laundry detergent or doing fluff and fold.

The current price (in 2026) of the laundry capsules is 5,000 IDR each (~$0.28 USD) and you need to use 2 capsules per load. They have two kinds and the only difference is the scent. Bring your own if you want to guarantee fragrance-free. You cannot use powdered detergent in their machines.

If you’re dropping off laundry, there is a scale here for you to weigh your clothes.

Prices aren’t quite as cheap as I hoped in 2026, but it’s still perfectly reasonable. Washing clothes will cost 60,000 IDR (~$3 USD) per 4 KG not including the detergent.

And before I forget, Sunrise Coin Laundry doesn’t actually open at sunrise. Rather, they open at 8AM daily. The signage wasn’t clear about when exactly they close…

Which resorts are within walking distance of Sunrise Coin Laundry?

Obviously, both the Andaz Bali and Hyatt Regency Bali are in easy walking distance of Sunrise Coin Laundry. But they’re not the only resorts that work well for coming here.

The Intercontinental Bali Sanur Resort and the Holiday Inn Bali Sanur are also a short walk away.

Aside from those points hotels, there are a handful of independent hotels and resorts in the area that work for coming here. But before you commit to coming here, you might want to check it out on the map to make sure it’s walkable.

Our experience using Sunrise Coin Laundry

I dropped off two duffel bags of clothes at Sunrise Coin Laundry. Sure, I could have packed more and not used laundry services on our two-week trip, but why not make things easier? In total, the two duffel bags held a whopping 11 KG of clothes, which meant I needed to pay for 3 loads of laundry. The 3 loads set me back a total of 210,000 IDR (~$12 USD). I paid in cash though they did have signs up saying they accept credit cards. The English language is widely understood here.

The receipt I had said my name and to return at 2PM, not unreasonable for a 9:30AM drop-off. And when I came back, the lady working the store recognized my face. That made it a little nicer not having to whip out the receipt.

All the clothes were neatly bundled together, which we left in this state until we made it to our next destination. When we opened them, nothing was missing. But…

…there was a shirt in the bag that most definitely wasn’t ours. At this point, we were in another country with no way to come back and return the item. Our next hotel had a “giving bag” where we could donate clothing we didn’t want. How convenient! So, we placed the item in there. None of us would have been able to fit the shirt, so not sure what else we could have done at that point, sadly.

What else is in Sanur Beach while you wait?

The obvious answer is that if you live close enough to walk and drop off your laundry, you can just walk back to your hotel and relax. And with hours to kill, that’s exactly what we did. But not before exploring a bit.

There are all sorts of businesses in easy walking distance, including clothing stores, restaurants, bakeries, massage parlors, and convenience stores. We stopped in Massimo, just down the street, because the kids were tempted by the gelato display.

I couldn’t get a good photo of all the gelato flavors they have because of the massive glare, but there are many fruity and chocolatey options.

Perhaps you can tell by the picture below if you squint, but there are many different types of desserts here. A cone or cup with 2 flavors runs you at just 20,000 IDR (~$1 USD). Thus, I’d say don’t buy your ice cream or gelato at the resort. Walk over here and save yourself some money.

We had two happy campers for the walk back.

…That is until Char dropped her ice cream on the walk back. It’s not like we had anything to pick it up so unfortunately we had to leave it behind.

Sanur Beach is a cute town and I’d recommend stopping by if you’re at one of the resorts nearby. And if you’re interested in laundry services, it’s much cheaper here than what you’ll find at your hotel.
