Trenitalia is the primary train operator in Italy and routes are available daily between major Italian cities. Our travel on Trenitalia between Florence and Milan was convenient.

Our Florence hotel was walking distance from the Santa Maria Novella station. From there, we took the noon train to the Milano Centrale station. Because this travel was on a long distance train (as opposed to the trip to Pisa, Italy), we were able to pre-reserve specific seats on the train.

After about an hour and half journey, we arrived at the Milano Centrale station, which was directly connected to the underground Metro (Centrale station). The Metro fare is 1.50 Euro per trip. Since we were going to be in Milan for two nights, we decided to purchase the 48-hour pass for 8.25 Euros. We look forward to unlimited traveling around Milano, Italia!
