Upon arrival from the seaplane, we were welcomed by a greeting line of representatives from the hotel and were introduced to Conrad’s front office manager, assistant front desk manager, and escorted to our room by the guest service team leader (Haishal). We were offered a cold welcome drink upon check in, and were accommodated in a Water Villa (upgrade from Beach Villa), featuring ocean views, jacuzzi pool, glass floor, sundeck, and steps directly into the ocean.

Our Water Villa was located on the Water Villa Island, which was connected to the Main Island by a long bridge walkway. A boat that continually runs between the two islands was available. We took the boat when we were too tired or if we were running late to a reservation. Otherwise, we actually preferred the long bridge walkway as we were often able to spot rainbow fish and manta rays under and beside the bridge. The downside to not taking the boat at night was the resulting walk through the jungle forest (with lizards) or the sandy beach (with crabs).

The resort and the natural setting around the island were beautiful. There were infinity pools on both the Main Islands and the Water Villa Island. But we were more likely to be in the ocean snorkeling in the reefs rather than by the pool. The shore of the Water Villa Island had a white sand beach that seemed to extend miles into the ocean. The water was clear and not too deep. Chris even learned how to float on his back!

In our most relaxing destination on Secret Trip, Chris and I decided to partake in a couple’s massage at the Over Water Spa. I chose a 90-minute hot stones massage while Chris (due to his sunburns) selected the 90-minute Swedish massage. We were provided with a locker to keep our belongings after we changed into the robes and underwear provided. We were provided with cool towels and tea while filling out forms. We were led to the treatment room at the end of the walkway, which had glass floors that allowed us to see fish in the reefs below during our face-down part of the massage. After our relaxing massage, we were offered warm tea with cookies.

Our guest services team leader surprised us with an anniversary celebration in our room upon return from our spa treatment. We received a bottle of shiraz cabernet sauvignon with a card. The bed was intricately and beautifully decorated with flora arrangements spelling “Happy Anniversary”.

We are going to miss this unforgettable destination and look forward to returning someday!
