My family and I boarded the Cotai Water Jet ferry from Hong Kong to Taipa for a day trip to Macau, primarily to see the casinos and taste delicious pastries (including Portuguese egg tarts).

As mentioned in Destination #9 Clues, Secret Trip Destination #8 (Bangkok, Thailand) was cancelled due to potential dangers of civil unrest. There was a bombing in August that was less than a one-minute walk from our hotel. Although we were no longer exploring the city, Chris maintained the flight routing through Bangkok on Thai Airways.

Singapore cuisine has been influenced by Chinese, Malay, and Indian cultures. Hawker centers are open aired food courts throughout Singapore with a variety of stands, each serving a particular type of food. Chris and I ordered food and drinks from these stands, and carried our trays of food to the bench seats in the open air patios.

Chris and I departed from the Conrad Maldives Rangali Island by Trans Maldivian Airways seaplane. Upon arrival at the Male International Airport, the Conrad representation escorted us through airport security and obtained our boarding passes from Singapore Airlines before dropping us off at the immigration checkpoint.
