- Asiana A380 First Class (this post)
Our hotel in Seoul provided complimentary taxi transportation to the City Airport Logis and Travel (CALT) Terminal, where we were able to take the Airport Limousine Bus to Incheon International Airport. CALT offers convenient amenities, including checking in luggage for flights and immigration preclearance to priority lines at airport, which makes the process upon arrival at Incheon International Airport more efficient.
Upon arrival, my family was able to gain access into the Asiana Airlines Business Class Lounge using the Priority Pass. The original plan was for Chris and I to join my family in the business class lounge before making our way to the Airlines Business Class Lounge. As a result of miscommunication and language barriers, Chris and I were declined access into the business class lounge, and instead directed to the first class lounge. Since there was only an hour before boarding, Chris and I enjoyed a light snack at the lounge before our flight. Upon departing the first class lounge, we were escorted by an Asiana attendant to our gate for boarding.
Upon boarding, we were offered welcome drinks of champagne, shortly followed by a refill accompanied by mixed nuts after take off. Each seat is equiped with lie-flat seats and a 32-inch television for the in-flight entertainment. We were provided with pajamas and a Salvatore Ferragamo amenity kit.
For dinner, the flight attendant allowed me to mix and match the western starter options with the Korean main course. Chris chose the Korean Royal Table D’hote menu. Both options came with the caviar.
We had our beds made for the night and tried to watch Big Hero 6 together using the in-flight entertainment. The lie flat seats are unquestionably more comfortable for long haul flights and Chris had no problem falling asleep shortly into the movie. I ended up finishing the movie, and slept only a couple hours because the couple sitting in front of us were talking loudly the entire night. Sometime between dinner and breakfast, I ordered a cold noodle snack.
We were greeted with a choice of water or juice a couple hours before landing. Chris and I both started our day with orange juice. Chris selected the western breakfast option and I went with the Korean meal.
What a great way to end this amazing trip. Chris has definitely exceeded my expectations on this elaborately planned Secret Trip vacation around the world in 31 days!
