Chris and I were traveling on business class and found our way to The Bridge (Cathay Pacific business class lounge) after getting through security and immigration at Hong Kong International Airport. We had a later breakfast at the hotel before leaving for the airport and only sample light snacks at The Bridge.
We joined my family in the Plaza Premium Lounge near our departure gate about half an hour before boarding. There was a larger selection of food at the Plaza Premium Lounge, but we found the options at The Bridge to be tastier.
Chris and I boarded our three and a half hour flight through the first/business entrance and were served welcome drinks of champagne. We ordered Hong Kong style milk tea throughout the rest of the flight since we were not able to try this during our stay in Hong Kong. Halfway through the flight, we were served a light dinner meal. Chris ordered the Korean option and I ordered the Chinese option. The highlight of my meal was my royal milk tea flavor of Haagen-Dazs ice cream. We spent the remainder of the flight watching the on-flight entertainment. I opted for Cantonese movies, but was frequently interrupted by the announcements by the crew (provided in four languages).
We arrived at the Incheon International Airport and waited in the long immigration lines before picking up our luggage. We purchased bus tickets for route 6103 to take us from Incheon into Seoul. While we were waiting for the bus, we saw a commotion of excited girls running after a boy and taking pictures. My brother Tommy ran over and took a picture of this celebrity, who turned out to be Jung Il Woo (Korean drama actor). After waiting at the 10B stop, we found that the bus was too full to accommodate our group of seven. We decided to make the short walk to the 4A stop instead, since that was the first stop at the airport to load. We were dropped off at the City Airport stop at the end of the bus route and used the phone in the info center to call our hotel for complimentary pick up and transportation to the hotel.
The last destination in our Secret Trip around the world will be bittersweet!
