We applied a suite upgrade to this stay and were provided with a Grand Duplex Suite, which consisted of two levels (20th and 21st floor of hotel) with separate entrances. This was our first (and maybe only) time staying in a two story hotel room. Moving luggage up and down the narrow staircase inside the hotel room was a bit inconvenient but overall, it was a nice novelty to experience. The first level included a living and dining (or meeting) area, and the second level had the master king sized bedroom and bathroom.
The hotel offered an indoor exercise gym and an outdoor swimming pool. From the fourth floor off the elevator, we walked down a staircase followed by a long walkway before arriving at the secluded garden area with a lily pad pond. The gym and the swimming pool were on either side of the garden. Since we were only in the city for two full days and because the walk to the gym and pool was a bit inconvenient, we did not use these amenities.
We were invited to The Grand Club (located on the 21st floor) for refreshments throughout the day (from 6:30 AM to 10:00 PM). We stopped by in the afternoon between touristy activities in the city to refresh ourselves from the hot weather.
Complimentary breakfast is served also at The Grand Club from 6:30 AM to 10:30 AM. This hotel attracts many business guests, and we were surrounded by men and women discussing business each morning during breakfast.
We also received complimentary beverage and canapés at The Grand Club from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. We did not stay long at this lounge for cocktails as we were rushing off to our various night tours of the city.
We didn’t realize that there was a Grand Club Reception (located on the 20th floor) for hotel check-in, but we used this to request our wake up call. The Grand Club Reception was not open when we were leaving the hotel early in the morning, so we didn’t get to use this service for check out either.
We are going to miss the view of the Singapore skyline from our amazing two story hotel room!
