We departed right after breakfast in a first class cabin for a six-hour scenic journey on Glacier Express from Zermatt to Chur. The route brought us through mountains, valleys, and canyons in Visp, Brig, Andermatt, Oberalppass,Disentis, and Rheinschluct. The weather was overcast and the inside on the train was brighter than the outdoor view. As a result, it was difficult to take clear pictures of the scenic journey and many photos ended up with glare from reflections of inside the train.

We ordered the three-course Valais menu for lunch aboard the Glacier Express. The glass and silverware slid along with the banked movements of the train. The cloth napkins was folded into a cone, and Chris decided that it reminded him of a birthday hat. In addition to mineral water, Chris and I also had lager beer and a hot chocolate drinks.

Upon arriving at Chur train station, we waited half an hour to board the SBB SFF FFS hour and half trip from Chur to Zurich. The train journeyed alongside the Obersee Lake. Outside the train window, we noticed that the rain had started to fall.

We finally arrived at the Zurich train station, and found that the extensive transportation system in this large city was complex and confusing to us newcomers. After a few wrong turns and inquiries with the information desk as well as a helpful local, we located the tram (not train) to our hotel. We made it!
