Secret Trip Destination #3 – Restaurant VUN (Milan, Italy)

During our stay at Park Hyatt Milan, Chris and I had the privilege of eating at our first ever Michelin-starred restaurant – Restaurant VUN – conveniently located inside our hotel.

The restaurant, which only had about ten small tables, was intimate and cozy. The menu quoted the following from executive chef Andrea Aprea, “My contemporary cuisine looks to the future, but never forgets its origins.”

Chris and I were offered an aperitif, and we selected Tenuta Il Bosco Oltrenero Cruase, a sparkling wine from the local region. The aperitif was served with a trio of canapés.

We selected the Neapolitan Itinerary, which consisted of an eight course tasting meal, and added on the wine pairings. We were provided with an envelope with a printed course menu. We used this to follow along as we were served each course. The photos below document the wine pairing followed by the corresponding tasting course. Note that the DUBL was served with the first two courses and the Lemon Sensation was not served with wine.

This three hour dinner was a gastronomical experience that was hard to pass up, but the price tag is not something that we cannot indulge in on a regular basis. For now, we will just savor this in our palate memory!
