Chris and I attended my sister Nancy and Rory’s wedding at Hyatt Atlanta Perimeter at Villa Christina. We kick started our day with brunch with the family at Caffe Christina in the hotel. Chris and I received complimentary breakfast (priced at $18 per person) as a diamond amenity. Coffee, tea, and juices are typically included within the breakfast buffet price; this hotel charged an additional $5 for each tea. But we did receive free refills of hot water. The buffet had the usual spread of bagels, muffins, pastries, oatmeal, smoked salmon, bacon, potatoes, and assorted fruit, and offered the option for made to order omelets, pancakes, and waffles.

My mom, sisters, and I headed to the bridal suite after brunch, where we were greeted with bubbly and snacks. The bridal party had hair and make up done by Christine and Katia from Brushworx Hair & Make Up. The wedding gown had intricate lace detail and was so beautiful and elegant on Nancy. As matron of honor, I had the responsibility of serving the bride, including helping with the dress and shoes.

The ceremony was held outdoors in the middle of August, and it was hot. Nonetheless, the procession with beautiful with music played by a live quartet. Sweet tea and light appetizers were served immediately following the ceremony while the photographer took pictures of the bride and groom. The guests were ushered indoors into the air conditioned dinner reception. After the salad course, the bride and groom made their entrance as newlyweds into the ballroom and performed their first dance to At Last by Etta James. The main course was served before the toasts were made to the bride and groom by the best man, matron of honor, brother of the bride, sister of the groom, and bridesmaid. Wedding cake, of course, was the perfect sweet ending to dinner.
